Painterly Collection

The painterly series derives its name from the fact that the blending of colors, characteristic of all of the pieces in this series, is an effect most commonly associated with painted brush strokes. Creating this effect in glass involves multiple stages of fusing, cutting and re-fusing narrow strips of different colors of glass until all of the colors mingle together, often with no clearly defined beginning or end point.

Contrast is another key aspect of works in this series where the areas of bright painterly color are surrounded by a neutral background color.
